bicycle accident

tl;dr: What should I do for any insurance claims of this accident? Should I call my homeowners insurance or my car insurance to report this?

background:

I was just T-boned by a red-light runner. My bicycle is totaled, and my left shoulder area is a big painful problem, and I will be following up with medical care for that.

Fault hasn’t been officially determined yet. When speaking to the police, both me and the red light runner claimed the other person was at fault. A bystander witness also spoke to the police afterwards to give an account of what they saw. Depending on what the bystander could attest to witnessing, that should swing things in my favor.

I feel like there are two possible scenarios from the police investigation- the police determine equal fault, or the police determine the red light runner was at fault.

The red light runner was on a borrowed moped. In my state (VA) these do not require insurance to operate. The police report includes contact information for the driver of the moped and the owner of the moped.

Moving forward- what should I be doing for any insurance coverage claims of this accident? Lets assume that the cost of a new bike + new helmet + (hopefully) sprained shoulder are $5000. Should I call my homeowners insurance or my car insurance to report this? or my medical insurance?

Any advice is appreciated!
