When most people think about California, agriculture isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. But you aren’t like most people. It doesn’t surprise you that California produces about half of US grown fruits, nuts and vegetables and 22 percent of the nation’s dairy supply. Nor is it surprising that there are over 75,000 farms and ranches in our state.
Our family has roots in farming. My great grandfather was a farmer in Northern Minnesota, and my grandfather owned a ranch outside of Santa Margarita. Both have since passed away, but the roots always hold strong.
