After 16 years of being a loyal customer my insurance was canceled. I was rear ended and the person’ insurance was unable to cover my new vehicle so they requested I go through my insurance. The claim was filed the same day , along with the police report of the accident. After contacting National General they sent me an estimate and told me to wait for the adjuster to contact me , which he never did. I then receive and email stating that my insurance had been canceled due to misinformation as they stated I failed to include my mother , who is 77 and does not drive, as a “driver” . Now mind you they have had the same information since I started the policy.. nothing had changed. No notice , no contact , nothing except an email , then later that day a notice that they had canceled my insurance and back dated it to the renewal date. After calling and speaking to a customer service rep I was basically told too bad and sorry. Very disappointed and will make sure anyone who asks to avoid anything to do with them.
