  • Important! Read the guidance for reporting part-time work. New rules are in effect for reporting part-time work. Please read the guidelines before submitting your weekly certification for UI or PUA benefits.

    • To file a Shared Work claim or to certify for weekly benefits, please sign in to your account below or create a new account. If you are not a Shared Work participant, and you need to file a new claim, please go to unemployment.labor.ny.gov to file your first claim for unemployment insurance benefits.

    • WARNING: Use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN), proxy, or internet anonymizer service will cause problems with your ability to apply or certify for benefits. Turn these services off before accessing online services. If you cannot turn off your VPN please call 1-888-209-8124 to apply for benefits or 1-888-581-5812 to certify for benefits.

If you already have an online account with the Department of Labor, such as for Unemployment Insurance, then you also have a JobZone account. If you do not have an NY.gov ID…

Choose the “Create NY.gov Account” button at the left and follow the directions. Important: If you completed an application for Unemployment Insurance on the phone with the Telephone Claims Center, please wait at least one business day before creating your NY.gov ID.

To create a new NY.gov account, you will be asked for some personal information, including:

    • An email address you use regularly and one that you do not share with anyone else. For example, you cannot use your husband’s or wife’s email address; you must have your own. This is very important, because the system allows only one NY.gov account linked to a particular email address.
    • First name and last name: please be aware that you will not be able to change the name you enter, so please enter your correct, legal name.
